 I am contemplating trying my hand at some Surf Fishing / Rock Fishing using a current Penn Battle II 8000 with 80lb Braid. I only have fair Deep Sea Boat fishing experience and spinning in surf and estuaries

Intention is to mainly target Bigger fish and use cannon to Launch bait / Sinker. Normally get close to 300m.
Do not necessarily want to spend R plenty and if I can pick up a second hand rod will be great

Any advise please
