Maybe ask the question on Trophy Tackle Den's facebook page. I am not to familiar with dropshotting in the area, maybe someone on that page could assist.

I fish there often especially when the west is pumping. When the west is hard fishing on wildside aint ideal and that is when I head to Summerstrand. I fish to the right of the pipe. Have caught a few small things there but never had great luck with lures/spinning. Had a big take there few weeks back. Was a real runner and took a whole pilchard and line snapped on a joint.

When the west is hard its easy to fish there cause the wind is on your back especially when sea is heavy since there isnt much wave action that comes into that area.

Lots of guys fish off the rocks at Something Good but these guys mostly targeting non-eds.

I have seen videos of Garrick and Cracker around 6 pillars but I have also only tried there once.

I've heard you get Elf with lures at night at Hobbie beach but I havent tried it yet. I tend to only fish these spots during the day.

Thanks for the info, reason I'm asking is because I was told you can target blacktail in the area on light tackle (7 foot) so was thinking of throwing gulp scented worms. I've caught blacktail and a stone bream before fishing on the reefs in East London with gulp scented worms. Was told to take a drive to Cape Recipe and pay an entry permit fee next time I'm in PE. I didn't know that the fishing is best on a strong westerly, will keep that in mind, as I'm from Cape Town.

Hi Wolf3d,
When will you be in PE..
If it's blacktail you after there are endless gullies and pools from the Beacon at Admiralty way all the way to parking area opposite Humewood golf course, that should be fished as the tide starts pushing.
I can help with some more PM info closer to time.
Regards.

Park at pinewoods then you dont have to pay to get into Cape Recife. Safe parking too. Walk past the bar (ask someone there for the path to the beach if you dont know) onto the beach. In front of the path is very shallow and not ideal unless you wish to wade out. Turn right and head towards cape recife. Many spots here with lots of Blacktail. There a couple of walkways/pipes that go out into the sea here too which are nice places to fish off on a calm sea.
