Hi guys! I am planning a short fishing trip in october around st. Lucia, mainly mission rocks,as I was told october was the best month for GT's... Is this really so?
I always go down to mission rocks and turn south about 1.5 to 2km towards an area called "barriers" there's a few sandy bays between rock ledges, lost a huge tug of war there with a bus during last december with a squido jig, snapped my 150lb mono leader (no cut marks due to rocks, maybe weak spot? ) does anyone else have any tips for this area?
Many thanks!

yip, what do you want to know?

October is the best time, but could be a hit and miss affair.
that area is known as Perriers!!

Big Gt'S swim there!!

do take note of the new MPA areas.
Perries will be out!!!

if you fish this rocky area, you need to go heavy.
a real tug of war!!
the best is to fish the area with plugs and spoons!

also a spring low is needed, turn of the low tide coming in.

it also depends on the water and action at that point in time.
Perriers was sanded closed now in February 2019.

weather it will be open is another question.

so do not fix yourself on this area alone.
rather travel light in order for you to be able to cover ground.

we have watched Geets swimming past, and chasing plugs.

they are with put a doubt, a great fish to tackle.

enjoy

Thanx for the reply! And sorry for the late response!!

Oh damn I wasn't aware that it is a mpa now! 😯.... So I'm not allowed to fish there anymore at all?? I've set my whole flippen heart on that spot.

Thanx so much for the advice! And yes I thought I miss spelled itπŸ˜‚..

After my first and only experience there, I wouldn't settle for any tackle less than heavy!!!
