Medium-Heavy Surf Rod (coffee grinder friendly)

Hi guys

I need help in deciding on a 12' surf rod that's rated up to about 7 ounces (having an lighter and heavier tip would also be great! But not a requirement) Oh and needs to have a longer butt section to fish it with a coffee grinder. Budget max about R2000...

I am asking for a friend who is on Lichtenburg so would it be better for him to drive to say Joburg or buy it online (where online?)

We are heading for Nam soon and he intends to use it on in-eds and cob and his 5 ounce rod is taking some serious strain when casting whole sardines

I love my Metaloid 13.6. Rated 6 to 8 Oz. Will be fine to target medium Ineds and cob. Bit longer than you want though.

Most of the bigger Grinder rods have short butts.

those multi tip rods are rather gimmicky, just buy a decent rod with one tip, with a grinder you can throw a range of weights

+ 1 for the Okuma metaloid also have a look at the makaira as you can pick one up for 2200 to 2500. Metaloid is 2200 at ganis. Try fishermans wearhouse and all out angling.
