Sounds pretty reasonable, but I doubt there is a difference between the JDM BG and the export BG. Did you buy through eBay?

Hi There. Thank you very much for the comment. Got it from someone localy.. I was aware that it was a jdm I understand from other sites that the quality was a bit lower(still a very beautiful reel though) but I got it at a good price

Think the JDM if I am not mistaken has a different handle compared to the normal BG. Instead of the handle having a threaded female shaft like on the normal BG's it has a threaded male shaft going all the way through and secured at the back with a cap nut. (See pic from Alan Hawk review) Don't think you can go wrong with the rod as my buddy has one and he is very happy with it. Also a nice travel rod as they come in 3pc ![]() Attachment: Daiwa JDM.PNG (Downloaded 216 times)

Typically, JDM market models are seen as better than export models for the more discerning Japanese client.

I've been wondering about this... I guess the Japs only go the extra mile on their high end stuff. Perhaps the lower end stuff is more a sort of "Asia" model (into the general SE Asian zones) rather than what we've come accustomed to as the JDM models. I doubt there is a more discerning bunch of people in the world than the Japanese.
