Hi guys. I am fortunate enough to be able to buy a new boat and would like to hear your opinion on these 2 boats. The Explorer 465 and Benguela 1450. 90% of the time the boat will be used for Bass fishing and towing a tube and skiing but mostly fishing. I also want to go offshore fishing at St Lucia and Cape Vidal when I go on holiday.
Wich one would you recommend and why.

Thanks

I had an explorer 465. it is a very good and able little boat and can recommend the hull. I sold the 465 as it is very small, with a fish hatch in the front that holds just a few small fish. Any large fish we had to lay on the deck at the back and cover them with a wet towel. we also could fish two comfortably as the boat was very crowded with three up
my 2 cents
i would look at the 5.1

Thank you for the reply.
Most of the time I'm fishing alone and at my house I have to do a good amount of maneuvering the boat by hand to get it in the garage so the 510 might be a bit big and heavy.

I had two 40 mercury on it and it ran very well
As I said it is a very capable boat and I loved it but was just too small. I have a friend on the South coast who also has a 465 and he loves it. He modified the whole deck layout and made it a proper fishing boat, in hindsight that is what I should have done but spending that kind of money on a boat that was two years old just did not make any sense.
He has 2 x 40 Yamaha wx motors, which are light on fuel and easy to maintain.
good luck with your purchase.
There is a 5.4 for sale on gumtree that is in very good condition

Did you look at the gamedish 430 or the seacat 465? Not to big for bass and not to small for surflaunch. Just think the cats might be easier for beach launch. 2x40's light on fuel and enough power. Push plate on transom helps 100%

For me, for bass fishing a front casting deck with a bow mount trolling motor is an absolute must have. And my personal opinion about a cat is that it must be a front/forward console as a center console cat just dont look right thus ruling out the front casting deck. So do not want to go the cat route
