Bottom ballaui wood (spelling) block is resinned to the hull. The top one is fixed with screws but sealed with sikaflex and the wood was soaked in resin

Looking great!

The 16ft ace crafts that I've been on, which I love, have the steering console much further back so there is no space for a box at the back but lots of space up front. They have such a soft ride and you stay dry, but I like your layout even better.

Looking really good, im about to finish my deck and must paint it. Would you mind sharing what make of top coat you used and how did you apply it? Brush or Spray? Im going to also do the filter sand non slip. Thanks for sharing

Hi Robbo, think we have spoken before on Fb. The topcoat is the same as flowcoat/poolcoat. I applied it with a mohair roller.. You need to apply it nice and thick with a brush first... Then you sprinkle the sand over while its wet.. After its hard you take a brush/broom and take away all the loose sand... Paint over the sand agaim with a roller. Nb: i think if the sand is too fine then the paint will cover it and it will be smooth again. Mine is fairly course but it came out perfect and feels nice under your feet

I remember it’s awesome that’s we can share our learning and what works. Thank you for the pics and advice. I’m starting to lengthen the new transom I built this weekend not going to start from scratch will post pics on how I do it if it works!! I upgraded motors from the 1st one I brought for the repower a 65hp Suzuki 2 cylinder to 65hp 3 cylinder with T&T but long shaft the boat is a foot shorter than yours and I was worried about the power to weight ratio. Your boat must fly with that 115hp. It looks awesome! Well done on doing a proper job. Seeing your thread has woken me up to get going again to have it ready before Christmas and a trip to Pongola. I cheated and sent my Baronette Calibre into some one and its almost done as well. Planning on taking 2 boats so my friend can use one and we can cover more area

The 65 will be perfect for your boat.my boat flies yes and comes onto plane really fast..My dream is to repower it later to a 70hp fourstroke suzuki. I have seen people lifting the transoms by drilling 12mm holes from the top and hitting in 12mm stainless threaded bar for reinforcement
