The boat has 36 hrs on the tac. 2 12' lowrance fish, bottom imagining, GPS.
The motors do not have warranty being that they are from south Africa. The hull does not have a warranty either that I know of. I would like to find out more about the boats and how they are built from someone who owns one. The boat has a carpet over the entire deck and I do not know if that is standard. Also is the boat made with any wood, the price out the door is 52000usd.

Hi and Welcome to sealine.

They say marine ply is also used in the build.

check their website here:

http://www.tomcatboats.co.za/products24.htm

the smaller size is normally bought by S Africans.

24 is quite big.
This is a surf launching vessel, which means is that you can do some beach work with it.

basically, the hull is strengthened to support beaching, things you guys do not do, as I understand it.

Our boating market is not that big compared to abroad.
also with our seas, 1,8 swells which is a norm for us. so we tend to ride /fish big seas more often.

also check www.boatfishing.co.za

heard their build is not too bad at all.
will see what more info I can get regarding this boat builder.

Have fished the walkaround version of this for years - with 2 x 140's on.
We fish up to 6 with no real issues - can bait for tuna (all on one gunnel) with 4, spin for yellowtail (seriola not snapper) with 4 and we have caught several billfish from her.

Spacious, comfortable and quite dry and very economical. Have been out in some pretty snotty weather and never felt unsafe. Excellent in a following sea.

Having skippered, crewed, cleaned and worked on her (I am not the owner) I can vouch for build quality.
The price you have is very fair especially if the motors are clean and genuinely have 36 hrs.

I don't know the current cost but would imagine close to $75k with trailer and electronics.

I see from THT that you are a new boater - this is a very forgiving boat to learn on and has none of the foibles of some of the cats around.

I would still advise that you get a survey done and then compare it with an equivalent US model - maybe a Prowler 25.
Pics would always be good as well!

Thanks captain Morgan. I just wanted to let everyone know that I bought the boat. We took her out for a sea trial yesterday and all I can say is WOW! It was one of the smoothest boat rides I've ever taken. There were 4 to 5s and had it on plain cruising 2600 rpms 35 mph cutting through them like butter. The boat is a blast to drive, also we were the only boat on the water (small craft advisory) never felt unsafe while running.
