Miles Sonday’s Tuna Boat

Over the last year Miles had a 50 foot boat custom built

Sunday last week, days before launch and sea trials, the boat burnt out.

It is now a matter between the insurers and the boatyard, but they have undertaken to start building him a new boat.

He is a good man and you can imagine how tragic this is for someone who makes his living from the ocean, so give him a shout.

Frankly I am still very pissed off with the okes who stuffed up this once great site..you know, the ones who made their own little facebook club.

Yes, I have not been that active myself, on SL, or UA, not sure why / what happened ect. But, it became like watching paint drying out... max 10 posts on a good day.. I miss the good solid posts. I do know some okes moved on, of course one cannot fish everyday ect, but some okes stop fishing, kids, different jobs, moved away from the coast ect - but damn it's quite, I do miss the DIY goeters, good old days bro...glad to see you back dude

Looks like it was a really nice boat.
Do they have any idea what went wrong? Wiring, motor, arson?

That is really sad to see. Such a nice looking boat. I have fished with Miles and he is a real gentleman.

Hi Thika and Serra, I've been quiet also, not much to add after I sold my boat. Anyway I'm in the process of immigrating to Canada.

That place is too cold man, but I know many will envy you.

A clean break and new start cannot be all bad, no?

Me, I am going to Remania....maybe have to move deeper into the dessert though!

I read in the newspaper, they think it was arson...

Surely the boat is not a complete write off, just a major repair job.

Wow this is sad news.
