You have x 3 options:

1) Clube Maritimo - (Basically, you will have to wait for a pushing tide to launch, have tractor to do launch, have parking) - not sure on costs & fees

2) Maputo Marina - (Can only launch on high high....lots of mud / silt - have parking, however heard stories, mirrors etc stolen)
- not sure of costs & fees

3) Clube Naval - (Can launch 24/7, assitance in launching, safe parking - years ago, I use to leave my vehicle there and do the Inhaca thing - no fuzz, you pay, vehicle safe - no stress)
- not sure on costs & fees

Do NOT PM me, rather post your questions here on Sealine, so that everyone can read / see / learn / absorb. Should you have a private matter, PM me not probs

Where will you be staying at on Inhaca?

Good post.
Serra could you give us a runaround of how to get all your documentation sorted to launch from any of these places.
Or will each launchsite sort your launch permit for you?
Regards
Malboer

ok... Bom dia Malboer ! Como estas brada!! LOL....

I will try and refresh my brains now....LOL...I will do it from a visitor's point of view, coming from SA to Moz.

1) Boat must be declared on (TIP) - The vehicle's form when you cross the boarder, also add fishing + diving gear if you are going to do that.

2) You will need a "Nav Cert" - which is like your launching permit ect. You need your SA COF + Skippers + Radio license ect? Well I have been told they can ask you for the Radio stuff... You can take you boat to the fishing port in downtown Maputo to get the inspection + you can buy your fishing licenses ect.

3) Some clubs can also inspect you prior to the launch ect

4) Malboer, remember I told you, you need some alternative goodies in Moz too.

I will look at the costs later, I can remember the costs of licenses ect, also each club will have a fee for launching / leaving your vehicle and trailor.

There is a few other launches in the Matola rivers, slip ways, "unofficial" however you will still need the inspections + license ect....I think in 2013? Some SA dudes tried to skip the licenses + inspection (stupid to save money) and they got busted....boat still in Maputo. So try and do the right thing, keep in mind they are closed on pub hols + Sundays. Also in the Incomati River near Marracuene + Macaneta there's launches too, but same rules + regs apply. The lodge you are staying at can assist you with this, in a pre booking for the inspection, they can also do your fishing licenses - send them copies of your PP and do it via email, at least you will save time

This topic was dealt with years ago on SL.....I think in the Boat section, have a look + search there, should have lots of Moz related info. However I am sure the costs / fees might be much more.

Yep thats why i asked. Plenty S.A guys arrive here not knowing they have to get their boat inspected.and a launch permit issued. When caught you will be in big trouble. When i still had the jetski it was always down to ponta first to get documents in order. Then to launch at milli. At least the maritimo guys know me by now so its quicksticks.

As Serra said make sure everything is in order and you wont have problems.

Skippers license

Seaworthy certificate
Safety equipment

The Harbour Master will inspect your boat. Please ask for directions to the permit office.

Take out a boat permit and fishing license that is payable in meticais.

There is parking available for your vehicle and trailer at a minimum fee

Security is available but nothing is guaranteed

Show your boat permit before launching

On the flip side, they (Maritimo) can inspect your boat, daily, or everytime before you launch or upon return...Won't happen, just saying.

Hi Serra moz

Was away this past easter to get fresh mackerel for your cuta, they better watch out we got some very fresh ones.

Our plan is to depart Pretoria on the 25 April at 12H30 and to cross the border at 20H00.
We intend to do a sleepover in order to be at the harbour master early Thursday 26 April to do all the paperwork and to leave for Inhaca at roundabout 12H00 to use high tide
We will be 4 guys with 1 vehicle and boat
Will appreciate any other sleepover suggestion as Casa do campo seems not an option.
greetings
