Hi everyone,
Just want to know where in SA can you catch the most species of fish
Any method can be used eg. Bait, Artlure ,Fly-fishing etc. Size doesn't matter as long you can catch a variety of fish.
Thank you! And ::tight:

Well, since no one has posted it, definitely Loskop Dam, 22odd Species if I am not mistaken. There is a report here somewhere from someone, I will find it and link it.

The species that I have caught on artlure in Loskop :
Barbel, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Carp, Blue Kurper, Redchest Kurper, Vlei Kurper, Dwarf Kurper, Makriel, Klip baber (Squeeker), Largescale yellowfish, Paper mouth, Gielie (about 6 different species), Mosquito fish, Dwarf Tiger, River sardine (Glassie), Redeye Mudfish as well as the rednose mudfish.
If we go down to Arabie we have caught all the above except for the Mosquito fish and the smallmouth bass but then there is the Chinese carp as well as grass carp in Arabie.
Then the chances of catching Bluegill should be there seeing that a while back a few farm dams with large quantities of this fish broke and that all went into the Olifants above Loskop. Then we must also remember that there is a large population of Kanarie Kurper in Bronkhorstspruit dam and there should be some of that fish that went downstream already.

Thanks! I think I will give Arabie a try looks good... Both dams might have the same species bc both are fed by the Olifants
