Cram, did that include a trailer? Also emailed them 2 weeks ago for a quote and have received nothing back. Business must be going well.

Is the ride of the 21' Yeld on par with an equivalent sized Butt Cat (in terms of softness)? I don't have the opportunity to test a Yeld.

QuQ, the trailer was another R86k, I've found that its best to phone them and ask all your questions than send an email.

I have not been on the Buttcat, but was told by a friend that fished on both types of hull at the Game fish Nat. that he preferred the Butt? (wave dancer) I'm also trying to get info from Nauti-Tech on that new 25ft shown at the recent boat shows and it seems they too are busy....

Thanks for the feedback, appreciate it.

I am in the S/Cape so Butt in PE is MUCH closer to me and easier to arrange. Its been my default choice but started thinking about Yeld. Given the prices you have listed, I think I will probably end up with the Butt.

I think you are referring to the 760 (25'). There is also a 750 XL option which is their 685 hull with hull extensions (not out-mounts). This boat planes on a single Suzuki 90hp and reaches 22knts on that single motor. Top speed with both is 33knts. It's available as a CC, "convertible" and with a wheelhouse.

Thanks QuQ, yes the interest was in this boat, my other choice was the 760 gamefisher, I've been kicking tyres about a possible upgrade from 21ft to 25ft to use along the KZN coast line earlier next year, only two boats seem to be around thats Tomcat 747 and the Butt cats, I like the width of the butt cat 760.

I've never been on the Tom 640 or 747, but a very knowledgeable ski-boater (also a naval architect), says that although the 747 is a lengthened 640, they are very different boats, insinuating that one was good and the other not. I'm not sure which one he thought was better though.

There are quite a few Tomcat 747's in KZN, seems to be a lot more popular than the 640. I have not been on the Tomcat 747 either but would prefer a slightly wider beam for more stabilty, thats why the interest in the Buttcat 760 and new 25ft.

Another option for you then is the Titan 255 built by Magson Marine in the cape. Runs well with 115's and will fly with 140/150's.
