No cracker this weekend! The water was clean, flat and abit cold which made for a lovely dive but I only saw one small cracker. The nice thing was all the baby poensies which is a good sign.

There was also a fishing competition with loads of anglers around. They did not catch much- just some blacktails etc. BUt I had a lovely day.

I just heard this morning that our electrician (in Ashton) caught a 30kg+ cob and 2 grunters at Blombos this weekend. Its funny cause as I got out the water I thought that Stilbaai/Jongens would have been a better option this weekend.

Those blue bottles were a pain esp. when you guys left me to drift off the point when you went for 1st aid. BUT i worked out that if you drift facing a certain direction, you could see the tentacles before touching them and thus avoid them. I once almost put my snorkle in my mouth after coming up and saw JIT that the mouthpiece was wrapped with tentacles!! Still got stung about 5 times on my face!

so... I dived in Arniston this weekend. The Vis wasn't great at all! managed a galjoen on the first dive and my bro got a small belman. I did another dive and let me just say things didn't go as planned! swam straight into a musselcracker in a cave and he bolted away, I could've kicked myself. Then I found a cave with a tiny entrance and I managed to get half my body in to see loads of galjoen and some belman at the back took my shot and somehow I didn't just missed but my spear got stuck in the back of the cave! took me 15 min to work it free! then I couldn't find the cave again because the vis was so bad and to top it all off a school of garrick buzzed me at top speed, TWICE! I managed to get a shot off but they where flying and I missed!...
was a good weekend tho, learnt a few things and had a couple of good surfs! I can't wait to go back and show those fish who's boss! I was dreaming about missing my shots lastnight!

At least you got in! Well done. I keep forgetting that I have often filled my stringers on "bad" diving days, especially when I remember to work the holes!
