Hi

What casting weight do you require?

My go to rod is a Shimano Exage 110s and its fantastic!
Price new is R2000 on the dot.

Casting weight is up to 250g as well :)

The Daiwa Exceller(EXS1163HFS) falls within your price range.

But as Foose mentioned, casting weight is important for Sealiners to give you the best advice.

I can recommend the daiwa saltist 11,6. Softer tip with strong back bone. Up to 4 ounce casting weight

Can potentially try contacting Kim on o6o988817seven, he has a saltiest 11ft6 up for grabs...looking for R1500 if I recall!

Morning!

I would recommend a Poseidon HMG Ultra Light 11'6. The rod is rated 2-3oz and is super light. Unfortunately they have been discontinued but do come up for sale every now and again.

I have an Daiwa Exceler 10,6 that I use for spinning and its has never disappointed! I did some tests where I casted lures with my exceler and Shimano Aerocast 11 with lures from 1.5oz to 3oz and the exceler had better casting distance on all different weights I tested. Bought the Aerocast to replace the Exceler, but I ended up selling the Aerocast again! Then I use a Exage 110h for scratching. The Exage is a really nice rod, I’ve casted anything from 3-6oz and I’ve landed some really nice fish with it! Not ideal for lighter lures...

Whats your opinion on the Adrenalin Tripple X spin with the low riders?

I have limited knowledge but they feel quite solid.

I know this was directed at Craig but thought I would post a link to this topic just in case anyone missed it...

Up the guides to Fuji Alconite in either Low Riders or K Series and you'll add R750 on the retail price of the rod.

Excellent blanks and great value for money on the XXX

Do you perhaps have photos of the raptor rod?
I am looking for a scratching rod and nobody keeps the raptor rods in Durban.

I've caught more fish on the Archipelago scratching with a
2 or 3oz than I have caught lure fishing with the rod.

Biggest landed was a 45kg diamond, best was a 9kg Cracker (on bait) Many Bluefish and even more shad
