Max Rods

Hi

Groete

Sorry I cant give a 2 cents on the 12 ft, but I can mention it on the 7 ft that I used for scratching the weekend. It's not bad at the price and if you going to use it as an extra its not a bad Idea since that is basically what mine is for.

I don't recommend spending money if you just going to catch edibles in Namibia, its a different story if you want to go chase some Bronzies.

I've had a Maxrod - Rippa 11ft spinning rod for over about 2 years now and it's still going strong.  Initially I had x2 tips break on me, both of which were replaced by Fishing Specialist in Goodwood without trouble as it was within warranty.  The third tip is good and it might have been a batch issue - but this is unconfirmed.

The stainless guides are of good quality and it don't show any signs of corrosion - unlike my Posiedon Coastline.

The reel seat did come loose, but that was totally my doing by twisting the rod and not holding the reel seat base when tightening.  I fixed this with epoxy and it's 100% now.

It's a really nice light rod with a sensitive tip and I pulled a few quality fish on it too.  It's a superb all rounder little rod that has landed, galjoen, dassie, elf and a prize roman.

You could pay a great deal more for a marginally better rod - but for the money, it's solid.
