news so far is the "protesting community fishers" in houtbay have set one crayfish boat alight and are busy looting recreational boats in the yacht club as we speak...
None of the people in the videos i've seen look like they have ever fished in the western cape traditionally...

And the subsistence guys with their "limited" quota, fished out the Hout Bay sector, then cried foul and were granted the Gordons Bay area...where they have been plundering the resource for the last 6 months.
(Coinciding with forced entries into, and theft from, commercial and recreational vessels in the harbour.)
I read a departmental statement regarding to this that it is only a suggestion and that the dates and TAC aren't finalised yet. The confirmation of the TAC is imminent though according to the DAFF
Hopefully the TAC will remain the same as last year
this will be my 4th season now and previously it has always beeb mid november. last year it was round about the 13th i think. some guys hear the dates before iets published in the media and usually post it on the site
