So guys.
I'm biting the bullet and getting a roll of 1100 meters of 1,6mm solid stainless steel wire.

these can be used to make your own slides or for wire used on grapnel sinkers.

Any of you interested in some wire.
Will see what the cost is.

What is a lot of wire. Why not opt for the 316 stainless steel welding rods in 1.6mm?

I bought around 30 x 1m lengths for R100 from a welding supplies shop?

Works out a lot cheaper and you don't have to commit to 1100m..

its a technical game....

tig rods will fail under strain.
that is why guys make use of beads to prevent the slide from collapsing.

tig rods do not have enough spring in them to be used.

I have some 2mm I use for making slides.
but 2mm is too thick on grapnel sinkers

Hallo Willem, I would like some, maybe 20 meters or so, maybe more depending on price.

price for roll of 700 meters was 980.

that's 140 for 100 meters, basically 1kg.

Postage at Postnet is R100 I think but will. get final prices.

To be fair, im not charging trips to postnet.....up and down.
but lets be fair, a 20meter, @ R 1,40C/ pm, = R 28, plus postage.

So do think carefully.
I recommend at least 50 meters, makes it worth while.

guys

im back.
just some feedback.
container has been delayed...... bit frustrating as im leaving next week for st lucia.

I have already paid for the wire.......

date of arrival is now only next week.
will see what I my options are.

wire im getting, no worries about that.
