Please note, this tread will be updated continuously so do keep coming around to see what is new.

So, lets get Going........again.

Some crab/ spider managed to create havoc and causing all info to vanish.

slowly but surely I will compile a new tread on Angling St Lucia.
I have been fishing this stretch of beech for the past 22 years and I have had some great success in achieving my goals. PB's of note

Crime:
is always a big aspect when a holiday is planned.
In the past 22 years I have only lost a baby carry bag which was left in the beech buggy. it was not locked as it did not have a roof.

at a point in time crime "theft out of motor vehicle" was a problem where vehicle windows were broken.
I do not lock my vehicle when leaving it at the beech.
no use cause there isn't anything to steel out of it.
but one needs to keep it in mind.

St Lucia, is situated on the KZN Provence and is 600km away from Heidelberg.
So basically 650km from Johannesburg.
Taking the n17 route will add R 100 of toll fees for a return trip.

But first, you need some place to stay.

Options:
Camping:
Camping @ Sugar loaf Caravan Park for the tent lovers and caravaners.
This is managed by KZN Wildlife

Tell: 035 590 1340

I have never camped there, so I cannot advise on the experience.

Self catering flats:
Various options exist:

Villa Mia Holiday flats:
If I'm not mistaken, 28 flats are available.
Villa Mia is situated on the corners of Katonkel and Mc Kenzie street.
One do not drive to town, as the town is across the street thus 300 meters to the Spar.
Villa Mia also has a swimming Poll as well as a bore hole.

The bore hole allows for water in times of drought.

The flats are self catering and you only need to take your own food down.
DSTV is available on request for a added tariff.

It is safe and well managed.
In the past 4 years I have made about 16 trips and only have praises for how it is run.

The flats are also serviced.
I have a couple of friends here who also fish like I do.
So the flats do cater for us as anglers.
some of the flats here have air-conditioning units fitted

your vehicle is parked in dedicated parking areas inside the property

The person to contact Here is Dirk: cell: 083 273 3323

Other accommodation:
Saxmere lodge:
I have stayed here a couple of times. Nice people.
these flats have only had the basics when we visited.
the down side to staying here is that your vehicle is standing in parking bays next to the road.
the owners do have a guard watching over vehicles at night.
Saxmere is situated in McKenzie street and about 500 meters from town

the person to contact Here is Susan.

St Lucia lodge:
I have had the opportunity to stay here.
also a very nice place to stay with a secluded swimming pool.
parking space at times could be a concern.
these units also have air conditioning.

person here to contact id Rory: cell 0836427775

various other accommodation exists. they can be found on the web, using Google.

that's it for now, when I get time, I will update the tread.
We have a fishing trip commencing in 9 days, so lets see where we are by then.
