Heres a new build for a customer.

Serious rod for serious fish.

Customer wanted plain build.

Thanks Bs,

These are brute rods! Thinking of getting myself the 10' medium/standard Nano Surf ll model PE 4-6. :)

After a long think....

I decided to do full KW setup. On the thinner blanks( 10'6) versions I would definitely go the Lc hybrid run which Im doing now on a 10'6 Nano.

Just hoping for some warmer weather..

Nice work Grootvis. Where'd you get the blank from if I may ask? I spoke to Kil Song (Black Hole USA agent) a couple of days back about the new Surf II rods and he told me they're not in commercial production yet, they're still in test phase...

I have the original Nano 106 and it is an awesome rod, my only gripe is that the ferrules are not tight enough, so you have to check regularly to ensure the two pieces don't come apart. I believe they have corrected that with the Surf II though.

Pair it up with the new Ocea jigger 3000HG.

Client supplied rod. Regarding ferrules. The 10'6 Im building now seems ok but could go a bit further down. On the surf II you can see the extra lapping theyve added. Looks good but is a heavy duty rod...not sure if any of our fish are to par but I know your fish will give it a good workout..

Nice, glad to hear they've put some effort into the ferrules. I agree, it's not the kind of rod you want to use for regular R&S in SA, but it's an awesome rod for heavy applications.

Picked up my 106n light last week and although I have not hooked up yet, I am very happy with the way it casts and works lures.

More distance than my 9'6" Graphcast 3 and better versatility in that it works leadheads better due to the parabolic nature of the tip.

Unfortunately not. After they sold out in July last year I waited until December for their new stock to arrive - paid full price.

Come to think of it, I don't think they had the "light" on special... Think it was only the H. So don't feel bad ;)

On special or not the price is still very good for what you getting. If you get the blank and build yourself you saving a lot of money than buying the rod already fitted. Excellent value for money.

Vades, let me know when you get a nice fish on the light rod what you think of it please? I've been toying with the idea of getting one myself.

I have a bunch of Black Holes, since I bought the first one I've never looked back. Fantastic rods at very good prices for that kind of quality.
