FLEXO FORWARD SBS

OK...I promise this is the last thing I will post on FLEXO unless it is a grip and grin with a Trigger in hand!

Measure off 30 mm from the front melted end and cut off...

Push FLEXO back over itself and halfway back, push eyes through from the front and weed guard ...this is where I messed up, I meant to put them on the top side not the bottom; well I wasn't going to start again...

Pull FLEXO forward again and tie-off the eyes and weed guard...

Tie in some underbody...

Pull FLEXO back over carefully trying not to flare the end too much, lay some loose wraps against the melted end once you have bunched the melted end and cinch tight slowly so that the thread can lay tight against the melted end; see my mess up with the weed guard:)

Boer maak a plan, just pushed the weed guard through the eye...

Take some straw and tear it in half lengthways for the rear three legs, use a full piece for the nippers. Melt the ends and roll them in your fingers to form a point...

Use a hollow needle (Daho) to pull the legs through the body (this is a good tool for FLEXO's)...

Take a piece of thread and tie an overhand knot under the leg then repeat on top of leg to form leg joint, pass end through loop twice on top and bottom...

Cinch thread and pull thread in opposite direction to the leg so that the leg lays right on the fly...

Pull in the nippers and tie joints...

Apply some UV glue on joints...

Fan out claw end and apply UV glue in a thin layer...

Cut claw shape and apply Sally Hanson nail varnish...

The fly sinks beautifully in the pool, claws facing up...

FLEXO party...

Still waiting for my chenille legs...if I had them this post would be 1/2 as long!!
