Lastly the 80mm shimmy sticks
The one at the back was an attempt of a glow stick , but some reason the resin managed to get under some of the edges and has lifted slightly. To the season pros , any help to stop this would be appreciated. The rap was supper flat before the epoxy , maybe there was a reaction to the glue ?
Will try it again soon , I will cut it back and try putting a second coat , still happy that the glow works through the epoxy .

Cheers mate,

At this stage i am buying the blanks and painting them .
As i progress i will start trying to make and shape my own lures , but baby steps for now .

I am getting my blanks and accessories from www.wlure.com
They do charge in American dollars and the postage generally takes about 2 - 3 weeks to Perth .
I have ordered twice from them now with no issues , they do painted lures as well , but there is no fun in that - :)

The costs of lures here are quite expensive compared to the South African market if you convert the the exchange rate , a decent stick bait is $25 - $35 and with the amount of lures i go through it starts adding up very quickly . I will use the Shiver stick as an example , i was back in SA in October last year and they were between R100 - R140 , here they are between $28 - $35 - half pice . Even the Halco products which are made in Perth are half the price in SA .
I am not sure what it would cost to get them shipped to your door , but for myself they save me a bucket load .
I would say all painted and ready to go would cost me about $3 each obviously not including the time it takes to do them , but that is all the fun .
I am saving approx $25 per lure and these lures work and catch fish , my mate who lives up in Exmouth put me onto them and they are pretty much all he fishes with and has caught some pretty good fish on them .

I get some of his trebles a swell in the 2 x strong , super sharp - even had one go straight through my 10 lb braid while the rod was in the holder flapping in the breeze , i don't use trebles a lot and prefer singles, but if its your thing they are great quality, super strong , super sharp and super cheap .
His split rings to are pretty good for the price , i haven't had any open on myself and i pretty much fish with a locked drag to try stop the fish burning you off on the coral . They are not top shelf Owners , but for most fish up to 10 kg there should not be any problems.
