Hi All,

I am keen to get back into saltwater fly fishing after a very long absence. I am considering purchasing an Explorer XPLA reel to suit my Bomber 9wt Rod and was wondering what you guys thought of these reels.

Any input would be greatly appreciated

Douglas

Thanks Exiled4Life!

I did look at the Guide III, but read on another forum that the sealed drag is not a very good idea to use in saltwater.

Thanks again,
Douglas

I use my guide in salt water and never had any issues with it.

A friend if mine only fished with his xpla 9# in salt water, never had any issues also
