Good day Guys,

I am planning on going to Die Hoek at Bloemhof in December
for a week and would like to know from other anglers that has been there before, how the place is in terms of accomodation in the Chalets, what bait works best for the Big Snorre (Catfish) and how deep to cast more or less

Thanks in advance

I will visit Die Hoek as well over December, often go there.
You do NOT have to cast far especially in the evenings. The bigger the bait the bigger the Barbel "normally". I often use up to a 1,5kg Grass Carp as bait. My PB is now satnding at 26kg.

Thanks Cobus, what do you use to catch the grassies? From what I have read on the forum from previous trips to Die Hoek is that the grassies does not bite easily?

I just use yellow floaties that is unflavoured and the same mealiebomb. If the Grassies are not available, use a carp head. You should not have any problems catching either.
