Can anyone tell me to what species of squid this belongs to?
All its tentacles are obviously gone,as you can gauge by my footprint(I wear a size 10) you can see its pretty damn big.
Its mouth was literally the size of a parrot's.
I thought since its gone pink the flesh would be ruined,but that wasn't the case.It was still ice white and about 4cm thick.Been fishing with it for a while now and makes a great blob bait and after slicing thin slivers off it works magic with pink prawn.
For interest sake I weighed the amount after cleaning and taking off multiple layers of tough skin on the inner part and it came to almost 6kgs(5.95)
