Massive fish poaching swoop

"Significantly, the arrested suspects said their catches were nowhere near what they used to be over the years – a sad indictment of the enormity of this environmental destruction which the authorities tasked with the custodial protection of this resource have chosen to ignore for the past two decades."
:shock::?:?:?

Great that there is some more active policing that seems to be going on. Plunder it all away and very soon it will look like it is here at Lake Malawi. Practically nothing left compared to 10 years ago.

the netting in jozini has been going on for as long as I can remember.the bastards net and just go to the Swazi side and get away with it.I remember in 2010 we were fishing a week before the yearly comp there and pulled a 56m gill net.we had to cut it into pieces and then measured it after laying them out.sad part is Sanparks didnt even give as much as a thank you.we dropped the net at the main gate and phoned the head of Sanparks for Jozini and was simply told... "we get that everyday".not impressed with their attitude,but was chuffed that one less net was in the water.

Yeah ,really sad when that type of attitude becomes the norm. Pity that the public can't work on a commission basis. They would get more done that way.
