Outboard Beaching Kit

Hi Guys, Some one please give me some advice/info. Im very new to the beach launching world. I bought this rubber duck recently and it has Trim & Tilt "Assist". PLEASE SEE PICTURES. Is this the same as a beaching kit? If the engines are tilted all the way up and locked in position with the lever then they obviously cant move but if you just flick the lever back then the engines will slowly come down (2 or 3 seconds) When trying to lift them back up it is not difficult but has resistance to it. Is this right? There is nothing electronic what so ever.

Thanks Psy. That explains 50 percent of it. So I do have a "beaching kit". Any idea how exactly I set mine. If it is possible to have less resistance on the upward tilt?

Those are not t&t motors, there is no electric motor and up/down switches on the controls, you manually lift the motor to the correct position and flip the lever to hold, if you flip it down fully then the motor is completely loose for beaching, I had a Mercury 60 the same.

When you have put your motors down you should have a locking mechanism to keep the motors down when in use (Reversing). before beaching, make sure its unlocked so that the motors can lift up and down, Then beach. Never beach with them locked in place.

I had 2 x 40hp yamaha four strokes like this
