Hi guys I'm interested in getting a Poseidon gold 5 pace. I'm using a Daiwa SL50SH. Is this rod suited to this reel? Does anyone here have this rod,and are you happy with it? Attachment: IMG_20160402_112455.jpg (Downloaded 140 times)

Thanks Sparrbos. Good to hear the guys using it. I was concerned when searching on this forum of reports of numerous breakages reported on these rods. Do you think this rod might be too light for my reel? Daiwa SL50SH. Does anyone have a clear answer on the rod weight ratings. If it says 6-7 oz is that the total weight of sinker and bait?

what I personaly saw break was an expensive hmg poseidon.but the golds the 3 we use in winter season wel maybe we lucky but had no break.been knocked many times on rocks.wind blew over fell on rocks.ride at back of bakkie using bad off roads between other tackle and cooler boxes.had no problem whatsoever.same as my old purglass 400/2 400/3 rods.sometimes when we done gallie and cracker fishing and we bored we put out strepie heads before sunset whereever we camp nwxt to sea for spotties and then you pul the rod with the gullys as hard as you can.surely if the poseidons we use is crap it would have broken by now.my brother in law and father in law only fishes sl50sh.brother in law poseidon gold sl50sh took this kob recently Attachment: IMG-20160329-WA0007.jpg (Downloaded 121 times)
