Lets have a show of hands, who's in for a Meet/Fish/Braai/Camp & Bash on the Southern Cape Coast.

Interested?

Put your name down, so we can see who's interested in a gathering of like minded individuals and fisherfolk

Wives and children welcomed.

Thanks for the initiative Psy.

I will be in up and until end July and preferably not in the school holidays.

I would like to fish areas not fished before.

The Southern Cape is with in reach of the Western Cape and Eastern Cape guys.

I wont be surprised if the attendance will be good.

Nice Friday and Saturday fishing and drive home on the Sunday.

Seems to me you have a lot of respect for the Southern- and Western Cape anglers.

I am sure you will be more than welcome here ;)

A Southern Cape Social will be lekker... but have it in the Southern Cape please. Struisbaai fishing is good but IMO it's a bit far off.
I would think have it at Kanon, then you are sorted for all weather, swell and species. It's also fairly central.

Sal like om weer in my ou valley gooi te maak

The area from Gouritz to Nautilus Bay is a very versitile area providing a producing spot almost in any conditions due to the coastline having a bigVleesbaai) and smaller bay(Kanon).

I have fished this area for more than 45 years in summer and winter. The only thing that changes between seasons is the target species.

Kanon rocks also provides the odd Poensie.

Cob: Many 100 pounders caught in this area.

Large galjoen frequent here.

Steenbras for the specialist.

Musselcracker from the beach and rocks.

Lots of opportunities for collecting a variety of bait.

Sharks and flat fish for the "board" and adventurists.

The only thing that has to be decided is a date.

Seems to me the man called Definition is a suitable organizer(vrywilliglik verplig);)

I would love to join when this bash becomes a reality.

Heads-up

Im not in town; and Def-e-nition is tackling up for Nationals,(and selling Toyota's) and has no time to fiddle around with internet at this moment.
I will be home shortly and will go to check with Jan at Kanon...and get word from him about availability of his place as a venue, (as mentioned it is the more central area to work from)

For you who know the area, there is camping and chalets at Kanon.

Gourits, Vlees Baai and Boggoms Baai are within shouting distance of Cape Vacca.
