Hi guys. Does anyone have a contact that does repairs to lowrance fish finders. Mine wont turn on, so I opened it up only to find one of the small components has blown.

beste is om hom in te stuur na Lowrance self in Durban.

Hulle diens regtig goed.
As een component geblaas het wys dit daar was moeilikheid!
die een langs hom kon ook seer gekry het.
Sterkte

As far as i know Lowrance have got a no open machine policy. Meaning that they wont fix it. but replace if still under warranty. and sometimes offer you a new unit at a well discounted price if not.

I might be wrong about this but i know as Willem said they provide great Customer service. So they do stay your best bet. unless you know a very good electronics shop that can replace blown components. Thing is to find out what caused it in the first place.

Replacing my broken garmin with a lowrance this weekend.

Guys thanks for advice. Can confirm that lowrance repeated your exact words with regards to warranty and giving out 30% discount on new finders.

If Lowrance is not willing to fix it for you and you don't find a decent electronics repair shop then you can post a photo of the damaged component here, if I have a replacement/or can order you a replacement I'll swop the component for you.

Obviously when an electrical component releases the magic blue smoke it's usually because something went terribly wrong and there might be more damage not visible to the eye. It's worth trying to fix it though.
