Guys, are there still some manufacturers that still produce good dedicated overhead/multiplier rods?

My understanding is that multiplier rod blanks are more stuff J shapes and multipliers rod blanks less stuff and more C shaped. It seems like most manufacturers have moved over to using grinder blanks and that the only difference between casting and spinning models is the reel seat setup and guides while still using the same blank. Is this correct?

Also, will one be able to fish braid on them?
