Trace for River fishing

HI Guys

Will be fishing the buffalo river end of Feb. Would like to know what traces aand rigs to use when targeting, carp and scallies. For barber i presume a normal sliding sinker trace will work fine?

I think the river will be flowing so how do i introduce attractents like mieliebomb?

Any help will be appreciated

Plain and simple as I use it. Mielie bom sliding above a 3-point swivel and then just adding hooks also on 3-point swivel and bottel sinker at the bottom.
